Frequently asked questions

What floors can I clean with the Philips OneUp electric mop?

The Philips OneUp Electric Mop is designed for cleaning hard floors, including delicate and non-absorbent surfaces such as laminate, slippery tiles, vinyl and some types of wood (parquet, poured floor, stone). When mopping for the first time, mop a small, inconspicuous area of the floor to check if the mop is suitable for cleaning it!

What detergents to use?

We recommend using the Philips OneUp Floor Cleaner (XV1892) included in the kit. It has a highly concentrated formula, allowing for up to 40 cleaning sessions with one refill. The cleaner is pet and family friendly when used as intended – allowing for safe, everyday use with less water. Specially developed for the Philips OneUp Electric Mop, it provides the highest possible cleaning performance and extends the life of the mop.

Can I use distilled water, warm water and floor cleaner?

The Philips OneUp Electric Mop will work with hot, lukewarm or cold water, respectively. You can use warm water up to 50°C and a non-foaming floor cleaner. We recommend using the included Philips OneUp Floor Cleaner (XV1892), which is easy to dose and ensures the best performance and durability of your appliance. Using only distilled water may reduce the performance of your appliance. If you still prefer distilled water, add some tap water or clear (non-foaming) floor cleaner to it. The OneUp Electric Mop is designed to work perfectly with tap water.

Please note that our device has been tested exclusively with Philips OneUp floor cleaner (XV1892). Other detergents may lead to excessive foaming, reduced device performance and mechanical failure.

How to clean a mopping pad?

Properly cleaning your Philips OneUp replacement pad and replacement head is key to maintaining the maximum performance of your electric mop. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

Remove the pad or head:
Detach the replacement pad from the electric mop.

Shake off loose dirt:
Before cleaning, shake any dust, dirt, and other debris from the pad into a trash can.

Machine wash:
Wash the pad on a delicate cycle, in warm water at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Avoid fabric softeners as they can reduce the absorbency of the insert.

Hand washing:
You can also hand wash the pad using warm water and mild detergent. After washing, rinse the pad
to remove any soap residue.

Leave to dry completely:
Allow the mop pad to air dry completely before reattaching it. Do not use a dryer as the high temperature can damage the fibers.

Maintaining your Philips electric mop?

Keeping your Philips OneUp Electric Mop clean is key to its long-lasting performance. Fortunately, the cleaning process is quick and easy. For the 3000 and 5000 Series models, you may need to empty and rinse the water tank after each use to prevent scale or mold from building up. Be sure to read the user manual that came with your electric mop: it will give you more information about your Philips OneUp model: both the 3000 and 5000 Series.

Do I need to vacuum the floors before washing them?

If there is a large amount of debris on the floor, such as spilled cereal or pet food, it is a good idea to manually sweep or vacuum it up before mopping. This will ensure the best results.

How long should I charge my Philips electric mop?

When the Philips OneUp Electric Mop battery is empty, it will take 4 hours to fully charge the 5000 series; 8 hours for the 3000 series. Charge the OneUp Electric Mop using the charging cable included in the box or another that fits the USB-C charging port on your device. Connect the cable to the USB-A charger. After each use, turn the device off before charging – this will ensure that it lasts as long as possible. The OneUp Electric Mop 5000 series can operate for 70 minutes without interruption. For the 3000 series, this time is a maximum of 50 minutes.
