Frequently asked questions
What floors can I clean with the Philips OneUp electric mop?
What detergents to use?
Can I use distilled water, warm water and floor cleaner?
The Philips OneUp Electric Mop will work with hot, lukewarm or cold water, respectively. You can use warm water up to 50°C and a non-foaming floor cleaner. We recommend using the included Philips OneUp Floor Cleaner (XV1892), which is easy to dose and ensures the best performance and durability of your appliance. Using only distilled water may reduce the performance of your appliance. If you still prefer distilled water, add some tap water or clear (non-foaming) floor cleaner to it. The OneUp Electric Mop is designed to work perfectly with tap water.
Please note that our device has been tested exclusively with Philips OneUp floor cleaner (XV1892). Other detergents may lead to excessive foaming, reduced device performance and mechanical failure.
How to clean a mopping pad?
Properly cleaning your Philips OneUp replacement pad and replacement head is key to maintaining the maximum performance of your electric mop. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it:
Remove the pad or head:
Detach the replacement pad from the electric mop.
Shake off loose dirt:
Before cleaning, shake any dust, dirt, and other debris from the pad into a trash can.
Machine wash:
Wash the pad on a delicate cycle, in warm water at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Avoid fabric softeners as they can reduce the absorbency of the insert.
Hand washing:
You can also hand wash the pad using warm water and mild detergent. After washing, rinse the pad
to remove any soap residue.
Leave to dry completely:
Allow the mop pad to air dry completely before reattaching it. Do not use a dryer as the high temperature can damage the fibers.
